Hooliganism!

Here is a good example of power-on oversteer!

Flying over the railroad tracks in a more neutral attitude with gravel spraying...

This series demonstrates the excellent drifting ability of the AE86. I approach this corner much faster than I think I should be able to take it. Before the first shot, I downshift to second and lift off the throttle. This leaves the car under heavy engine braking at about 40mph. The transfer of weight off of the rear wheels under braking causes them to lose traction. As I turn in, the back end begins to swing wide (first picture)...and if lift-throttle isn't enough to induce oversteer, a dab on the brakes'll do ya! This type of drifting can be done on pavement (for the brave of heart) and is popular in Japan. In the second picture, the car is still travelling more or less from right to left in a four-wheel drift, but is beginning to regain traction. Despite the appearance I am not driving American one-handed, suicide-knob twirling style! In the third shot I am prolonging the fun by getting back on the gas to keep the tail out. This can't be done on asphalt with my car (low power output and no LSD) and my abilities (too chickens**t) By now the car is headed towards the camera and is just about finished with its sideways cornering, ready for third gear and acceleration to the next corner! Remember, this is not a definitive guide for how to do it in your own car, and also remember that I would never drive in an unsafe manner...I just wanted to give you a glimpse of how it might happen. ;-)

Here I am wondering why I have run out of revs in second gear...check the rear wheelspin! Hehehe!

The makings of a great donut...(note attempt #1 in the foreground...)

....Mmmmm! That one was tasty! Now quick, leave before the cops get wind of _this_ donut!
