Rallycross

Rallycross Pictures--Shelton, WA 2001

Just a touch of oversteer exiting the sweeping turn at the end of the course. I wasn't always able to pull this one off so nicely as you will see below. :-)
Front end diving into the bump.

Prepare for liftoff!

The now infamous "outhouse spin." I got overzealous coming out of this turn and lost the back end under power. The course had to be moved at the last minute, and the new site contained several port-a-potties. About the time I was passing through 270 degrees of rotation, I figured I should stop and back up...
...but I didn't; I kept my foot in it instead and came around full circle, without (quite) hitting the outhouse. Note the flying cone just behind the car. Hehehe! I got nine seconds worth of penalties with this move and had to endure ribbing of, "Hey, you missed one over here!" (pointing to other outhouse) Hehehe! :-)

This is my good buddy and former housemate, Luke. He is featured driving my AE86 in some of the pics above. We both drove his Audi 4000 Quattro at an event in Hillsboro, Oregon, and used to tear up the backroads around Oregon on TSD events in either the Corolla or the Audi in the early 00's.

The now infamous Subiegal back in the days when she used to compete in rallycross with a street car!

"Menace" with his rallycross Toyota AE86 coupe. In case you are wondering, the course comes from the right of the frame and heads to the left...no, he is not moving. Oops. :-)
Ah, yes...another Toyota. This Rav4 was really booking it! Check the MA70 Supra factory alloy rims.

Oregon rallycrosses tend to bring the ST165 Toyota Celica All-Tracs out of the woodwork. This car is looking good in white and still has the original factory "IMSA Champions" sticker down the side!
Swedish bricks...an IPD Volvo wagon. A bit of a long car for this tight course, but still a joy to see being driven hard.
